Business Rights Management
Many types of organizations,
including media companies, large corporations,
government agencies, and others, have been
adopting Enterprise Content Management Systems (ECMS),
Media Asset Management (MAM), Web Content
Management (WCM), to help them organize content
and create content based products for their
customers, employees and partners. These
systems are intended to be control centers for
entire content lifecycles, including content
creation, management, and distribution.
One of the most important
elements of complexity in content process is
content rights. Controlling and managing access
to content based on rights information is a key
component to the success of any ECM, MAM, WCM
system. Adding persistent protection to content
is the most effective way to control and track
access. To be efficient and accurate in their
work, Content Providers and Distributors must
integrate their solutions with persistent
content protection by including or dynamically
linking to rights and licensing information in
the metadata that their systems track.
